Every move is different, and the total cost of your move will depend largely on how long the job takes and the size of the moving crew you choose. Several factors can affect the amount of time needed to complete your move.

Size of Your Move

The amount of furniture, boxes, and other belongings being moved is one of the biggest factors in determining how long a move will take.

Crew Size

Choosing the right number of movers can make a big difference. A larger crew may have a higher hourly rate, but additional movers can often complete a move more quickly.

Stairs & Property Access

Stairs, elevators, long walks between the home and moving truck, limited parking, narrow hallways, and difficult access can increase the time required to complete a move.

Packing & Move Preparation

Having boxes packed, labeled, and ready to go before your movers arrive can help save time. If you need help packing, wrapping, or preparing furniture, our movers can help with that too.

Distance Between Locations

The distance between your pickup and destination can affect the total time of your move, particularly for moves between cities or different parts of Utah.

Specialty & Heavy Items

Pianos, safes, oversized furniture, appliances, and other heavy or specialty items may require additional movers, equipment, or time.

Multiple Stops

Moves involving storage units, additional homes, deliveries, or multiple pickup and drop-off locations may require additional moving time.

Right to Refuse Service
Helping Hands Moving and Maids, along with our employees, reserves the right to refuse service to any customer if we deem the property unsafe or if there are conditions that put our staff at risk. We prioritize the safety of our team and will take all necessary precautions to ensure they work in a safe environment. We also reserve the right to modify reservations due to factors such as working conditions, the size and layout of the property, or unforeseen challenges to ensure an efficient move while minimizing physical strain on our team. Examples of such factors include extreme weather, large homes, complex multi-level moves (e.g., apartments, condos), specialty items (e.g., pianos, safes, hot tubs, pool tables), or additional workload beyond initial estimates.

Moving Insurance
We provide standard industry-wide moving insurance at $0.60 per pound for the items being moved. Exclusions and limitations may apply to certain items.

Damages
While we take great care in handling all belongings, damages may occasionally occur. Our company provides Basic Liability Coverage at $0.60 per pound (industry standard) for any items that are damaged during the move. This coverage is included in the moving rates discussed prior to the move. Additional coverage options are available and can be purchased through movinginsurance.com. To ensure full protection, any additional insurance must be secured before the move date.

Uncovered Items
Certain items are excluded from our standard coverage, including, but not limited to, China, Antiques, Glass, Clocks, Glassware, Lamps, Marble/Granite, Mirrors, Pictures, Artwork, and Flat Panel Televisions that are not in their original packaging. These items will be moved at the owner's risk unless packed and unpacked by Helping Hands Moving and Maids. We are not responsible for damage to unprotected flooring, nor for items with inherent weaknesses such as defects, prior repairs, or unstable construction that may result in damage during the move.

Particle Board/Ready-to-Assemble Furniture
We will take every precaution when moving particle board or ready-to-assemble furniture. However, these items are generally not designed for relocation once assembled, and we cannot accept responsibility for any damage that may occur to such items during the move.

Valuables and Personal Belongings
Helping Hands Moving and Maids is only responsible for the items in our immediate care. We do not accept responsibility for money, jewelry, or other valuables. Please ensure that these items are safely stored before our moving crew arrives. We recommend you inspect all goods thoroughly before signing the release section of the contract.

Standard Insurance Coverage Limitations
Please note that standard moving insurance coverage is limited. For a detailed list of items not covered under standard moving insurance, or to purchase additional coverage, please contact us directly or visit movinginsurance.com. Additional insurance must be purchased prior to your move date to be valid.

Cancellation Policy

• Weekday Moves (Monday - Thursday): We require a minimum of 48 hours’ notice for cancellations or changes.
• Weekend Moves (Friday - Sunday): We require a minimum of 72 hours’ notice for cancellations or changes.

Failure to provide proper notice may result in a small fee. For any questions regarding cancellations or our cancellation policy, please contact us.
